Portalp Railway certifies its DCU SIL2 according to EN50129 by Certifer.

As part of its platform screen door project development, Portalp’s Railway Business Unit has designed its own control system for operating its doors. In late May, Portalp Railway’s Door Control Unit (DCU) achieved SIL2 certification, marking a significant milestone for the company. This key control system component is now integrated into our product offerings. The certification, issued by the notified body CERTIFER, demonstrates Portalp Railway’s commitment to the safety and reliability of this system, which is embedded in the technical headers of our automatic doors.

What is a DCU?

A DCU is an essential electronic component in automatic door systems. It ensures precise control over the opening and closing of doors. The DCU manages the mechanical energy of the door leaves and detects obstacles, thereby guaranteeing user safety.

> At Portalp Railway, this system is developed in-house by our R&D department and then integrated into platform screen doors. Il est ensuite intégré aux façades de quai.

      • Enhanced Safety: The SIL2-certified DCU minimizes risks associated with the operation of automatic doors, ensuring user safety.
      • Increased Reliability: Our clients can rely on the consistent performance of our DCU for decades to come, reducing the risk of accidents and operational disruptions.

At Portalp Railway, the safety and reliability of our products are at the core of our mission. Achieving this certification is a testament to our commitment to excellence and our dedication to providing our clients with cutting-edge solutions that meet industry standards.
