Portalp Railway celebrates a significant milestone today with the commissioning of our platform screen doors for the extension of Paris metro Line 14! After several months of testing under real train traffic conditions, our platform screen doors are officially in service, contributing to the modernization and expansion of this line.

As part of the project to improve the Line 14 transport network, Portalp, in partnership with EQUANS, was selected by the RATP to design and install nearly 2 km of platform screen doors spread across 8 new stations. The main objective of this project is to secure the tracks and streamline the flow of passengers and trains in preparation for the Olympic Games.

The completion of the installations and the commissioning result from close collaboration between the various project stakeholders. This project includes a custom design phase of the platform screen doors, as well as qualification and testing to meet specific technical requirements and constraints. After client approval of the plans, the platform screen doors were produced in our factory based in Grenoble. As the only French manufacturer, we produce the subassemblies that make up the platform screen door, certified as Origine France Garantie.

This extension now connects Orly Airport to the center of Paris in 25 minutes. The Line 14 metro has also been extended northward with the creation of the Saint-Denis Pleyel station, where the Olympic Village and the Stade de France are located. This station will accommodate up to 250,000 travelers per day, making it one of the busiest lines of the Grand Paris Express. Our platform screen doors must therefore be both robust and reliable to facilitate the significant passenger flow and ensure their safety.
