Start of the resistance tests for the platform screen doors prototype of line 18

Platform screen doros of line 18

Over several months, Portalp and Equans teams have been engaged in production and assembly of the prototype for the future platform screen doors of Line 18 of the Grand Paris Express.

Assembly of the prototype completed
This prototype, designed and assembled in the region of Grenoble, in France, was presented to our customer, Société du Grand Paris, in the presence of the agency’s designer Patrick Jouin. The latter had validated the aesthetic aspect of the platform screen doors on the model presented in October 2022. The validation of the various design criteria, which will now be part of the final product, has been approved by them. This is an essential step in the prototype qualification.

The prototype undergoing testing
By performing mechanical resistance tests, the teams are now moving on to the type-testing phase. Objective of these tests is to simulate the various impacts the system could receive during operation. For several days, the prototype is put through its paces by recreating crowd movements and the impact of objects into the panels. These tests guarantee maximum reliability and safety for the customer and future users.

Functional and performance tests will follow to qualify our products before proceeding to production and installation on the new Line 18 stations.
